Unless You Can Be A Unicorn Kitty!
Excited to be taking over the blog today to share this adorable Unicorn Kitty from the Unicorn Dreams stamp set New Release for January! I love making these Rainbow Galaxy Backgrounds with my watercolors. The short of it is, you add whatever colors of paint you want wherever you want it to be... then you add the black all around and in the middle.. be sloppy and let your colors mix a bit. Splatter a little black around too... you really can't go wrong. It may not look just like mine, but it will look great when it's done. I promise! You let each layer dry and then repeat 3 or four times. Once your finished watercolor is dry, you splatter with the white. I like to take some plain old white acrylic paint and add just a tiny bit of water to it. Once it's all dry, I usually go back in with my gel pen and add some tiny dots here and there. It takes some time, and you may want to do what I do and make a few since you're making a mess anyway! I always cut my watercolor paper a little bit larger than I want my finished piece to be also so I can strategically cut it down and pick my favorite areas. Have fun with it!
I can't say enough how much I love the adorable kitty on this set!! Those sweet eyes and cute little tuft of mane hanging out of her ADORABLE hoodie!!! I mean it really doesn't get any cuter! I colored her with my copics, cut her out and attached her to the card with a spring so she'd move and then added my starburst rays around her varying the widths and heights... tried to make it a little bit random.. and because she's on a spring she moves! (Trying to figure out how to insert a video from my phone here so you can see it..lol! But in the meantime you can check it out on my Blog Post here if you'd like!)
And I was able to stamp this awesome sentiment right onto my Galaxy background using Versamark Ink and embossing with some white embossing powders. Added a few extra stars from the set around and embossed those too. I finished off the card with a few sequins and diecut stars as well.
So happy you joined me for my first time up on the Little Acres Blog! It's been fun and hope to see you again soon!
